Freedom?

                       "Freedom or Illusion" 

     You are safe — but where?
     You are loved — but by whom?
     You are happy — but when?
     You are respected — but how?
     You are free — but to what extent?
     You are heard — but are you truly understood?
     You are valued — but only when you obey?
     You are protected — but at the cost of your choices?
     You are alive — but are you really living?

Freedom — such a simple word, yet such a complicated reality when it comes to girls. Society often asks whether girls truly have freedom or not. If the answer is “yes,” then the next question arises: where is that freedom?

These questions show that freedom is not just about moving around or doing what you want. True freedom lies in safety, in respect, in happiness, and in love that does not come with conditions. Unfortunately, for many girls, these remain unanswered questions.

She can’t even decide what she wants to wear or what makes her happy. Either she has to ask her family or her boyfriend — but what about her own wishes? No one seems to care. And why is it that if she wears something of her choice, it is seen as a crime? For example, a simple sleeveless dress. 

Why is she always looked at as an object of desire and not as a person, a human being with dignity? Does she see men in that way? No — then why is she judged like this?

True freedom for a girl will only exist when she can live without fear, without judgment, and without conditions. Until then, freedom will remain just a word — not her reality.

Why does she fear, and why does she always have to ask someone for herself? Is that right? She is even afraid to wear the dresses she likes. This is where male dominance begins. Is she really living her own life?

These are all my perspectives — things that have happened, are happening, and, sadly, may continue to happen. When will she ever get the chance to live her own life? The life she has now is not true freedom, but only an illusion that brings suffering.

When a girl dares to oppose, she is immediately considered to have a bad character in their perspective. She is also labeled as going against culture. They only emphasize that we should do things according to their wishes, never our own.

Freedom should not be a privilege or a debate — it should be a right. Real freedom is when a girl can live without fear, without restrictions, and without being constantly questioned. Until then, “freedom” will remain just a word, not a reality.
